درانقلابِ دف ها 
درگوش پنبه كرديم
تا رقصمان نگيرد
.
در کِشت، ره نرفتیم
تا زير پنجة ما
نو رُسته اي نميرد
.
ما دشتِ زندگي را 
بی وقفه ره سپرديم
بسیار جوی و چشمه 
در راه اگر شمردیم
لب هاي خشكِ خود را 
عطشان به خانه برديم.

To Hassan Lahouti

In the revolution of drums,
We thrust cotton into our ears,
In order that we would not start to dance;
We did not walk on the cultivated land,
In order that a newly grown seedling would not die,
Under our toes;
We ceaselessly crossed the plain of life,
We counted up many streams and fountains on our way,
We took our dry lips home, unquenched, though.
